Lucinda died 10/31/1903 in Blooming Grove, Franklin Co., IN and is also buried at Stone Chapel. They had 7 children - Maria, Ida Jane(Curry), William Thoenton (DOB 1/1852 Indiana), Jotham (DOB 10/02/1857 Franklin Co, Indiana), and Jesse (DOB 8/1867, Fayette Co, Indiana) and two that died in infancy. My local server is down. I only have mail and icq so it would be a good time for another one of my famous e-mail updates.... I have added a couple of new lookups onto the website. I have the Naturalization Records done but not uploaded yet. Hopefully when the server comes up I can get those uploaded....I have been dragging my feet way to long and wanted to get that completed. The other thing, Janet Shade in Florida, one of our Genealogy list subscribers has suggested I come up with a composite alphabetical surname list, complete with surname and e-mail addresses of those people researching them. Might be a great quick lookup list. So I am going to ask for this again and I appologize cause I should have saved everyone's e-mail's....If you would like to be included on this composite listing, please drop me a line with the surnames you want included....The more the merrier...I just ask they have a Franklin County Tie in. I will have the webpage up as soon as I can and I am giving everyone first shot at the listing before I turn it loose to everyone. We now have about 160 subscribers to the list including 4 foreign countries...That's excellent.... Sorry for the rambling....things are moving again on the website...and more things are added weekly so keep checking back. I will also be checking more e-mails on the query pages soon to make sure they work....just my yearly check... Thanks everyone Randy Klemme Franklin County Genealogy Coordinator

I am checking on a possible history of the Brookville Methodist Church. Hopefully they have something printed like the new St Thomas Lutheran history just up on the webpage Randy Klemme Franklin County Genealogy Coordinator Delta3xs@aol.com wrote: > Randy > > About a year ago on one of my "days of desperation ," I sent a letter > requesting any information about my grandmother, Nettie Stewart, whom I knew > to be Methodist, to the church in Brookville. > > I received a very kind reply from Rev. Dear Randy, You might wish to add the Church History of the St. Nicholas German Lutheran Church to the Franklin County website. The URL is: http://members.aol.com/sycophant4/ChurPast.htm Best wishes! Larry Christensen San Diego
Thanks for the St. Thomas Lutheran Church history. Nicely done!
Seeking parentage of greatgreatgrandfather John J. TAYLOR, b. ca 1808, MD. married Elizabeth STANSBURY in Franklin Co. IN on 18 Dec 1830. They moved on to Illinois by 1850 (census) and then into Iowa by 1853. Daughter Mary Ann was born 1832 in IN. Son William born 1834, Ohio. Daughter Hannah born 1837, IN. Daughter Amanda E. born 1842, Illinois. Son Joseph W. born 1845, IN. Daughter Rachel J. born 1747, Illinois. This movement leads me to believe they were connected somehow with the railroad. I think that John had brothers named Robert, William Lewin (or Levin), Samuel and Perry, because these names all settled, (along with John and Elizabeth) in Henry Co. IA by 1854. I would appreciate any contact and will gladly exchange any data that I have. Thank you. Cleo Wilcox <cleowilc@pacbell.net
Randy About a year ago on one of my "days of desperation ," I sent a letter requesting any information about my grandmother, Nettie Stewart, whom I knew to be Methodist, to the church in Brookville. I received a very kind reply from Rev. Don Miller, giving me the information he found, including her previously unknown to me middle name, Webb. New doors were opened with this information and it was all very helpful. For anyone interested the address is the Brookville United Methodist Church, 150 E. 8th St., Brookville 47012. Needless to say if you ever get this list on, I'll be first in line. Dinah

The History of St Thomas Lutheran Church went up on the website this evening. If your family has a background in the Lutheran denomination. You want to read it. It is filled with many names. I was really surprised when I read it, how much my family was involved with the church. KLEMME/SHELTON/ANSPACH/HEEB were all my surnames mentioned. There's more to come!!! My husbands ancestors lived there between 183? and 1900. We found out a lot from your site that helped us in our research. Second, we are interested to know if his gggrandparents (Andrew H. & Elizabeth Stallman) are buried at the St. Peter's cemetery. Do you know who we could contact to find out??? Do they have a church secretary that could look it up in the church records or is there a cemetery sexton that we could contact?? Thank you for any info you can give us, Peggy Stenberg jpsten@mail.tcbi.com --------------249682A536341902C1F77DB9--
There is a possibility the local chamber or the local Farm Bureau office would have CURRENT plat maps but that would be it that I know of without going to the recorders office and looking the older one's up... I don't know about the Methodist Church, but for everyone's information, I will be uploading a complete history of St. Thomas Lutheran Church in Brookville. Thanks to the current board of the church and the Brookville Library, I was able to obtain a nice history of their church and I am putting it together now. There are alot of names throughout. It goes along with our history of St Peter's Catholic Church already on the website...
