The family immigrated from France about 1842-1849. They were in the 1860 and 1870 census. Also, in the 1900 census. By then they had changed their name to JAMES. "Johns' wife name was Mary ???? They had known children, John, Joseph, both born in France and Mary, Celestine, and "Kerin" born in Indiana. They lived in Floyds Knobs from 1860 through 1910 -- probably longer. Any help with this family that finally became "JAMES" will be appreciated.
