James and Rachel left Putnam Co, IN for the Wapello County Iowa area between 1840 and 1842. They were many years in Putnam County, probably the Greencastle area. I have recently begun to venture into Putnam County, IN after years of research to exhaust all that I could find in Iowa records for this large family. If you can confirm or eliminate my Martin line from yours, that will be a help. If you know of others researching the Moore, Denny, Martin, Nosler, families of Putnam County, Indiana please forward my interest in sharing with them. Thank you. James Martin born ca 1976, Virginia, reared in Kentucky Died 28 May 1880 Iowa Buried Ottumwa Cemetery, Wapello Co, Ia Married Rachel Moore in Kentucky Rachel b. ca 1799, Virginia, reared in Kentucky. She may have been daughter of Thomas and Ann Moore. A relative found a land record of early Putnam County, IN where Thomas and Ann gave land to daughter Rachel Moore. I have not seen this land deed. Died 1880 at the home of her daughter Mrs Troxel, in Lucas Co, Iowa, buried Ottumwa, WapelloCo. ISSUE: 1.William M. b. 13 July 1817 Indiana. Married Rachel T. Denny. Wm died 13 Nov 1888. 2.Polly Ann b. Indiana, married Wm P Leach in Jefferson Co, Iowa and they went west to Oregon in 1852. 3.John b. Indiana. Nothing else is known. 4.Thomas b. Indiana and probably the Thomas J. who married Selena Plough in Jefferson Co, IA. They went to Oregon in 1852. 5. America Jane married Perry Moore Troxel in Wapello Co, IA in 17 Nov 1845. 6. David Luther b. Indiana. Married Sarah A. Evans in Wapello Co IA. 7. Va (Virginia) Ellen b. 13 Mar 1831 married (1) David H Evans in Wapello Co, (2)Crail (3) Vestel 8. Fannie, b. Indiana. Nothing else is known. 9.Threse Ann, b. Indiana, Nothing else is known. 10. James C. b. 1835 Indiana, married Susan McCoy 6 May 1855, Wapello Co, he died 28 April 1910 Enid, OK. James was a CW Veteran in the 39th Inf IA Volunteers. 11. George, b. Indiana. Nothing else is known. 12. Reuben R. born 4 Apr 1839, Indiana, married 1) Mary Jane Davis 2)Eva Carter 3) Kalista Holmes. He died 22 July 1903 at Clarinda Institute and buried in Lucas Co, IA. He was also a CW Vet in the 39th Inf Iowa Volunteers. 13. Sarah E. born in Wapello Co, Iowa. Married William B. Wycoff of Ottumwa.
