Hi, I am researching the Steger family--- Adam and Martin Steger, brothers, born in Bavaria, Germany, in the early 1820's. Martin and Adam also had a sister, Margaret--b. abt 1818) who married Adam Smith. They are in Floyd County, New Albany, on the 1850-1900 censuses of Floyd County (New Albany). There father was John George Steger, b. in Bavaria, Germany, and died 1854 in Dubois County, IN. John George had two wives, these children are by the first wife, by the second wife he had an Eva who married a Kieffner and lived in Dubois Co. John George's brother, Adam, also settled in Dubois Co. Most of Adam's descendants live in Dubois Co. I'd like to find more on this family and would be happy to share what I have. Thanks.
