Bennett, 68, died Friday at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services. He was a retired railroad conductor from Norfolk-Southern Railway in Louisville, KY and an Army Veteran of the Korean War era. He was a locally known Country & Western musician and vocalist and a member of the Wesley Chapel in New Albany. Survivors: sons David and Terry Bennett, both of Atlanta, GA; his mother, Clara Bennett of New Albany; brothers Ed Bennett of Sellersburg, IN and Charles and Tommy Bennett, both of New Albany; and two grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at the Kraft Chapel with burial in Mt. Tabor Cemetery in New Albany. Visitation will be at 1-6 p.m. Sunday at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Rd., New Albany.
