The information I have comes from the book on the Bartlett family, so I don't have any information on Desdemona's brothers/sisters. I have that her parents were Russell Smallwood, born 1810 Kentucky, who married Jane Clark, born 1814 Indiana. They were married in Floyd County, Indiana in 1832. Desdemona married John H. Bartlett (born 15 April 1831 in Fleming County, Kentucky, died 22 November 1910 in Russellville, Arkansas buried in Pisgah Cemetery) They were married August 8, 1853, but it doesn't say where. They had 7 children, all born in Floyd Co. or Lawrence Co., Indiana The closest I have come to Desdemona's family is your post. The Bartlett book says she is possibly adopted. I haven't been able to confirm her relocation to Russellville, or burial in Pisgah Cemetery. Or anything! It's almost as if she didn't exist, but I have a living breathing husband to show that she did!
