I have found someone who knows something about the Smallwood family! Russell Smallwood and Jane Clark's daughter Desdemona married John H. Bartlett. Their daughter Julia Ann Bartlett married James Richard Myers. Their son Joseph Myers married Florence Ann Gilliam. Their son Donald Paul Myers married Ethel Mae Hays. Their son Eldon Paul Myers is my husband. I am trying desperately to track down information on Desdemona. The Bartlett family book says she was born in 1833 in Indiana. She died November 22, 1910 in Russellville AR and is buried there. They had 7 children, all born in Flord County or Lawrence County, Indiana. She is listed as being possibly adopted. The family rumor is that she was Native American. Do you have any information on Desdemona?
