It has microfilmed copies of the local newspapers going back well into the 1800s. If you haven't been to the Library, it is well worth the trip. If a visit isn't practical, perhaps a family member still living in southern Indiana could research it or, if that isn't an option, there are researchers in the area that you could contact.
