Were burial permits required in the 1850-1875 (at least) era for Floyd County, and/or Indiana in general, and if so, what level of county office would one need to inquire of, to see if it is on record, to receive a copy etc. I am in particular looking for a burial record on or shortly after December 18, 1869 for a Thomas Sinexon who died in Louisville, Kentucky on that date and whose body was supposedly sent to "John" in New Albany. Now John Sinex (his cousin) was the coroner at some point during that time but we can find no information regarding his actual burial. Any help will be gratefully appreciated. Thank you for taking the time to read this. Antoinette (Tacoma, Washington)
