Southern Indiana Genealogical Society sponsoring a Genealogical Workshop 23 October 2004 The Southern Indiana Genealogical Society will sponsor a genealogical workshop and book fair on Saturday, October 23 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Gerdon Youth Center on Chestnut Street, Corydon, Indiana. There will be book vendors, local arts, history and genealogy information, and freebies. Classes include beginning genealogy, Revolutionary War microfilm use, cemetery documentation and preservation, local genealogical library use, local history tours, and more. The workshops are free and open to the public. Tenative Schedule: 9:30 - video presentation by Karen Gleitz of the Flags Over Corydon (this was the presentation made for the Harrison County Historical Society in July. 10:00 - members of the Harrison County Historical Society will do a Cemetery Documentation and Preservation Workshop 11:00 Beginning Genealogy 11:00 Walking tour of Corydon by Bill Brockman (45 minute walking tour) 12:00-1:00 no seminars Lunch Browsing Break 1:00 Using Military Records in Genealogical Research by Susan Covey 2:00 Information available on the Revolutionary War Pension and Bounty Land Warrants More workshops or discussions have not had times set yet.
