St. Marks "Our Church Visitor, Vol XXIV Sep 1930 Charles Umbreit was born in Germany February 1st, 1860. When five years of age he came to New Albany where he resided until he was called out of this world on August 29th. He is survived by his wife, three sons, Herman, Nathan and Otto; one daughter, Mildred; three brothers, George Ernest and Herman; one sister, Mrs. Anna Klein; two grandchildren; other relatives and many friends. Mr. Umbreit also was a life-long member of our church. Burial services were held on September 1st and burial was in Fairview Cemetery. He was not found in the burial register at Fairview, so he may be buried elsewhere.
