Daniel is not descended from Wilhelm Stoy. I'm pretty sure Daniel is a son of Peter Stoy/Stay who immigrated into Pa. in the 1730s. Most of the rest of his family stayed in the Philadelphia area until around 1800, though various men seemed to have patented land near Daniel as non-residents. The Peter Stoy lines running around Ohio and points west are most likely tied to Daniel or his brothers. The children of Rev. Wilhelm Stoy are well-documented and Daniel isn't one of them. / Tom Gull
