    1. [INFLOYD] Drowned Man BODDEY, Samuel
    2. Sue Pearson Carpenter
    3. INQUEST Coroner's Inquest New Albany Daily Ledger Monday 8 May 1865 p2 c4 The undersigned Coroner of Floyd county, held an inquest on the 7th inst., upon the body of an unknown man found floating in the Ohio river in New Albany township, Floyd county, Indiana. The jury by me summoned returned the following verdict: "Deceased came to his death by drowning, or some cause unknown to this jury." The body was dressed in a full suit of cavalry clothes, with the stripes of an orderly Sergeant on the sleeves of the jacket. He was 5 feet 10 inches high, dark hair and long dark beard, mixed with gray, and supposed to be about 45 or 50 years old. By papers found upon his body it was supposed he belonged to a Michigan cavalry regiment, and that his name was Samuel BODDEY. He was interred in the city cemetery of New Albany. John Sinex, C. F. C. n [note: There is no Boddy listed in the burials of Fairview Cemetery in New Albany, Floyd County, Indina. Possible this is the same as the one listed as "Unknown Man" who was buried June the 3rd of that year. spc]

    3. Sue, very interesting. John Sinex was my 3rd great granduncle and also a 6th cousin 5 times removed. I enjoy adding these little items to my family history. Thank you.
