It gives his birthdate as 9/17/1854 and his death date as 10/19/1938. He is buried in Section 2o LOT 264 Grave 2. Drusilla Belle (Hand) Baxter was born 4/10/1859 and died 11/21/1915. She is buried in Section 2o Lot 264 Grave 3. The only explanation I can think of is that the couple may have separated for some reason and she passed herself off as a widow. This does not seem likely because they are buried on the same Lot. Could he have been incarcerated or in the hospital for the mentally ill which was in Madison, IN? His wife would not want either of these made public. There is a good possibility that there might be an obituary available. The Jeffersonville IN Public Library would be the one to contact. Their Indiana Room has lots of obits on microfiche. I have a friend in IN. I will write to him and see if he could check the library for an obit. Their sons Eddie Clark Baxter and Raymond Garner Baxter, Sr are also both buried in the S-burg Cemetery as well as their wives and some of their children. Did you notice that Drusilla Belle Baxter says on 1910 census she had born 16 children and 11 on them were still living? I can only account for 8 living. Regards, Jafra Schireman
