Mrs. Anton Embs, nee Zinsmeister, was born April 14th, 1882, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Zinsmeister. On June 10th, 1907 she became the wife of Mr. Anton H. Embs, and for a number of years remainedactive in the work of her church, as well as in civic enterprises, until she with her husband removed to Berkeley, California, and from there to Oak Park, IIlinois, where Mr. Embs is supervisor of music of schools. Death came to Mrs. Embs after several years of ill health, on July 19th at her home in Oak Park. The remains were brought to New Albany, where funeral services were held on July 24th and interment was in Fairview Cemetery. Besides her husband, two sisters, Mrs. Ernest Kuenzler, of New Orleans, Louisiana, and Mrs. H. Long, of Louisville; three brothers, Edward Zinsmeister of Louisville, and Carl and Lee Zinsmeister of Tucson, Arizona, with other relatives and many friends survive to mourn her departure. --from Our Church Visitor, a monthly newsletter of St. Mark's Episcopal Church, Volume XXVIII, Aug 1934 Number 8
