Trying to get information on their parents who died around Louisville when the children were quite young. They may have died anytime between 1844 and 1848. Anna was raised by the Fenders in Jeffersonville IN after the death of her parents. Thanks for any help.

I am looking for the name of the1st wife of William Whitlock, who was in New Albany in the 1830 census, then later to Greenville Township, and eventually to Lafayette Township. William married his 2nd wife, Julian Monaghan, in New Albany in 1835. To the best of my knowledge, this was the only Whitlock family in Floyd Co. before 1850.

Peter and his father were both Brewers I think, so they probably both knew your gg-grandfather Peter Weber. Small World huh? I don't have any information that my Buchheits had any connection with a Peter Weber but there could be I guess. The only connection with the Buchheit family (other then my family) I know of is the Angrick family in Michigan City IN. They are through a Barbara Buchheit b. in 1860 and is 3 months old in that census and is listed with the name Buckhart. Her maiden name was Heelgriem I am still trying to sort thing out so I may subscribe to the census report again. It is cheaper than going to Salt Lake! LOL

As far as I know the Buchheits didn't go to MO. Peter (the Brewer) died when my Grandmother was quite young, 7 or so.Her Mother remarried a John Biggs who had a son Clarence whom I had met when I was in my teens. I am now in my early 70's so it was a long time ago. We are planning on going to New Albany this summer and I intend to go to the St. Mary's cemetery and check for Peter's name there. His wife Josephine (Biggs) might be there too. Thanks again.

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/3h.2ADE/2020.1 Message Board Post: If he was of German descent, which I imagine he was, he is more than likely buried in St Mary's Catholic Cemetary which is on Charlestown Rd in New Albany. Was his father also Peter Buchheit who was a brewer in New Albany? There is a listing for a Peter Burkhart in the 1870 Floyd County census who was a brewer and had a son, Peter, your Peter's age. My reason for asking is my gg-grandfater Peter Weber kept a saloon in New Albany at that time and appears on the Census a page away from Peter Burkhart. As you may or not know saloons at the time got their beer from local brewers and it is more likely than not they knew each other and did business. Also did this family ever live in Missouri? I have an entry for a Peter Weber living in 1950 St Charles Co, Mo with a family whose name appears to be Boshart (Burkhart?Buchheit?) Have you ever heard of your Buchheit family having ties to any Webers?

    1. Allen Family of Floyd and Jefferson Counties, IN
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Allen, Aigner, Kent Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/3h.2ADE/2022 Message Board Post: am seeking any information on the Franklin and Eliza (Kent) Allen family of Madison, Jefferson County IN. Franklin was b. in 1805 in KY. Place of birth and parents are unknown. Eliza Kent was b.1811 in New York and her father was most likely David Kent. Frank and Eliza had 5 children as of the 1850 census. John W. b. 1832, David M.b.1834, Eliza A. b. 1840, Hannah Le b.1845 and Orinda K. b.1846. Frank and Eliza are buried in Fairmount Cemetery in Madison. Hannah Le married John M. Aigner of Madison and had Frank,Albert, Percy and Norvall twins, and Belle. John W. had Grover, Charley, George, and John and lived in Jefferson County. John W. is buried in Fairmount Cemetery in Madison. David M. had John W., Frank, William, Joseph and Charles and lived in Floyd County, IN. This Allen family is of Native American descent but I do not know which tribe or nation. I have a very old tin type of Hannah Le Allen and an old picture of her as an older woman and the Native American is quite evident as it was in her grandson, my grandfather. However, it is possible that some Allen descendants don't know that they are Native American or perhaps it is just a family rumor in their family. I have extensive information back to 1624 in Germany and Austria on the Aigners which only descend from John M. Aigner's father Christain Aigner, Jr. who was born in Beaver County, PA and was part of the Harmonite Community there. Christian was the only son of this Aigner line from Germany and his son John M. was the only son to have children except for his brother Gideon Aigner who died as a result of the Civil War and his only son Gideon Aigner, Jr. was raised by John M. and Hannah Le Aigner. I would love to hear from anyone who has any information on this Allen line from Jefferson County or Floyd County and I will share Aigner information with anyone who connects with this Aigner line. Thanks, Janet H.

    1. look-up
    2. I am wondering if someone can do a look-up for me in the IN death records for Floyd Co. I am needing parents of Margaret Smith, her husband was Adam who died about 1877 in Floyd Co. I think Margaret is part of my Dubois CO Steger line, but need her parents. She was b. in Germany about 1818 or 1819 and was on the 1900 census with her daughter Mary (Mrs. Herman) Meyer in New Albany. Since I can't find her in 1910, I am assuming Margaret has died. Also, since the Stegers were Lutheran in Dubois CO, the Steger line might still be Lutheran. I do not know what faith Adam Smith, from Germany, was. Thanks. Helen Zuber Keusch

Susannah died before 1880 but William continued to live there with his chilldren. Continued family generations of Williams lived there until at least 1930 when there was a William born about 1919 and 11 at that time. My great, great grandmother was a sister to Susannah Woodward, nee Morgan and was Emily Madge, nee Morgan. We have lost contact with the Morgan family in part due to an inherited kidney disease my family has suffered with and this family may also have dealt with this. It is called polycystic kidney disease-PKD. I would appreciate any help you could give me. Betty Bennett

    1. Steger
    2. Hi, I am researching the Steger family--- Adam and Martin Steger, brothers, born in Bavaria, Germany, in the early 1820's. Martin and Adam also had a sister, Margaret--b. abt 1818) who married Adam Smith. They are in Floyd County, New Albany, on the 1850-1900 censuses of Floyd County (New Albany). There father was John George Steger, b. in Bavaria, Germany, and died 1854 in Dubois County, IN. John George had two wives, these children are by the first wife, by the second wife he had an Eva who married a Kieffner and lived in Dubois Co. John George's brother, Adam, also settled in Dubois Co. Most of Adam's descendants live in Dubois Co. I'd like to find more on this family and would be happy to share what I have. Thanks. Helen Zuber Keusch in Dubois CO, IN forever searching the EAKINS, FORD/FOARD, MELTON, WALCUP, SANDEFUR, EZELL, HANDLEY, THOMASSON, ZUBER, GUTEKUNST/GOODART, ANTHIS, BANGERT, LAND, CRABTREE, BENNETT, EDWARDS, REEVES, WOOFORD families--my lines; and on hubby's side the families of MEHRINGER, SCHITTER/SCHUETTER, HOCHGESANG, SCHMITT, HURST, BECHER, KEUSCH, ACKERMAN, BURGER, and HOPF.
