I have since learned that there were two William OTTs in Floyd Co. The one that married Fannie Eve was not my grandfather. If memory serves me correctly, the William that married Fannie was the son of Frank OTT, who came to Floyd Co. from Darmstadt. My grandfather William (who married Susie HOPPER) was the son of Ferdinand OTT, who came from Baden and settled in Morgan Township, Harrison Co.

    1. 2 story log cabin in Georgetown/ Edwardsville Indiana ?
    2. Nancy Lloyd
    3. A girl friend of mine that lived close to me in Georgetown, from 1950 -1957, remembers a 2 story log cabin that belong to the farm behind her. She said that she really lived in Edwardsville, but her mailing address was Georgetown. She would love to know more about this 2 story large log cabin, built on the property behind her. I offered to ask and see if anyone had heard about it, or knew about it. She said that the field beside her house had lots of arrowheads in it, and she never had any desire to collect them. Does anyone know anything about this, or where I could look this up for my friend. The Sheriff's name was Al Watkins. Nancy S.L. Always looking for STROCKSDILL'S/ STROXTILE.

My mother says he died in Indianapolis but can't remember when. She wasn't alot of help in remembering anything past her grandfather and grandmothers name.

Surnames: OTT HOPPER WHITLOCK SUMMERS UTZ BAKER Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/3h.2ADE/2111.1.1 Message Board Post: Doris, thanks for your reply. I totally missed it somehow when it came in, and that is why my comeback is so late. William WHITLOCK (Sr.) has been a "brickwall" for me, and you may have knocked it down. But I still have some unanswered questions to find, and your information may help. If you notice, William Jr. was born in 1826, when Julia Ann would have been just 13. I have a marriage record that shows that William Sr. married Julia Ann in Floyd Co. in 1835, so Julia Ann MONAGHAN was NOT the mother of William Jr. I firmly believe that William and his first wife, who I have not been able to identify, also had a daughter named Eliza Ann who was about 8 years older than William, Jr., but like him, was born in Kentucky before William Sr. came to Floyd Co. Eliza Ann WHITLOCK was my gg-gmother, who married Hiram HOPPER in Floyd Co. just a week or two before Eliza Ann's father married Julia Ann (in 1835). Hiram and Eliza Ann settled in Greenville at about the same time that William (Sr.) and Julia Ann left Greenville for Lafayette Township. I suspect that William either gave his Greenville pro! perty to his daughter and her husband, or perhaps it was adjacent. If I may ask, how were you able to determine the birth and death dates for William, Sr. and Julia Ann? One other item that I almost forgot...Hiram HOPPER was a bricklayer living in Cincinnati when he married Eliza Ann, and they returned to that city after they were married to live and start raising their family. About 19 years later, soon after they moved to Floyd Co., Eliza Ann died during or after giving birth to their 6th or 7th child. Hiram went on to marry twice again, and he and all three of his wives are buried in Greenlawn Cemetery in Greenville, along with some of the children from all three wives.

I am trying to find the families of Dr. Ford's descendants and have recently come to believe that there was one family living in New Albany from at least 1850 (census) to 1912 (death). The obit I am seeking is for ALICE BULL, born about 1851 in Kentucky, married to B. S. Bull and the mother of Robert Alexander Bull. Alice died on August 12, 1912 in New Albany. I have attached a JPG file of 1900 Wabash Plain Dealer wedding announcement for Robert Alexander Bull to Miss Anna Holton Williams, granddaughter of Dr. James & America Ford (this home wedding took place in what is now our house museum). Is there any information in your local history about the Bull family? Where did they live, what schools attended, church affiliation, other family members, burial location, etc. On behalf of the Ford family, please accept our thanks and gratitude in advance for your kindness in helping us. Should you have any questions, please contact me directly. Thank you. Susan Neff, Historian email susan.neff@gmail.com The Dr. James Ford Historic Home, Wabash, Indiana www.jamesfordmuseum.org

IN Circuit Order Book R, p. 604. This listing is found on p. 37 of: "An index to Indiana naturalization records found in various order books of the ninety-two local courts prior to 1907", published by Indiana Historical Society, 1981. This index does not include names from the naturalization record books and related documents usually found in the clerk's office in each county. In this same index are 2 Dowd entries listed in Jefferson Co. IN: Peter Dowd, Circuit Book S, p. 368 (1852/1853) and Peter Dowd, Circuit Book W, p. 453 (1859/1861). 2) The Circuit Order Books should still be in the County Clerk's Office of each county unless placed in a local archives due to limited space. 3) Since the naturalization records are considered to be federal records, not county records, record books labeled or identified as naturalization records were removed from Indiana county court houses several years ago and taken to the Indiana State Archives, Indianapolis, for preservation. I suggest you contact the County Clerks for photocopy of the above mentioned records in Circuit Order Books, and then the Indiana State Archives for possible additional information.
