Greetings Listers: I am researching the following: Peter Davis, born ca 1843 England; married to Ann (Ray?) born ca 1848 England. Children: Ann, Rose, William Thomas, Walter . . . . Peter worked as a "glass grinder". There may be a possible connection to Joseph Peyton who immigrated at the same time and his naturalization papers were one page behind Peter's. Family immigrated to New Albany ca 1871; Ann married Abram Roscoe Morris (eventually moved to Oakland, California); Rose married Chester Whiteman (eventually moved to Dayton, OH). I would like to make contact with cousins researching the same family line or others with an interest in this family. Thank you, Robin Hood Howsden Sacramento, CA

She is going to be difficlt to find anything about, but since they married in Floyd county on 5 Sep 1903, source is book 12, page 32, if you can find someone in Floyd county to look at that record I think the names of their parents should be there. As for William R Hanger, in the 1900 census I find him in Floyd county, Georgetown township, Dist 53, page 2A, living in a family headed by his father Thomas Hanger, 55, born Nov 1844, married 32 years, a farmer, born in Ind, father in Va, and mother in Ind, which included his wife Candace, 48, Sep 1851, married 32, mother of 6 of which 4 were still living, born Ind, father and mother in Va, his son William R, 21, Oct 1878, works on farm, Ind, and his daughter Laura E, 15, June 1885, at school, Ind. I found a marriage license for Thos Hanger and Candasa Colo in Floyd county on 24 Sep 1868, source is book 6, page 440. Remember this is a transcribed record so the spelling on the original might be different. In the 1900 c! ensus Katie Harmeling was living with a cousin, she was 17, born Oct 1882, in Ind, father in Germany and mother in Ind. Good luck. Don

Mary Harmeling who married George Diersing. My J. Mary Harmeling Diersing was born about 1851 in Germany. She and her husband, George, owned a large dairy farm in the Cumminsville area of Cincinnati, Ohio. They had a large family. My great-grandmother, Mary Ann Diersing, was their first-born child, born in October, 1873. I heard that George sold newspapers when he was 9 years old and I believe he and his family lived in Cincinnati at the time. Please write me at vlp681@yahoo.com. I'd be glad to share information. Thanks.
