He was the son of George and Eve Backus. He had a brother, George P. In later years the boys lived in St. Lawrence County. Any connection do you think? I believe that Utica is also in Herkimer County, if not, it's next door.

The name was spelled "Burkheart" but it is the same. David Burkhart was born 1820 in Indiana and m. 1842 to Susannah Stewart in Washington County. They lived in Greenville Twp., in Floyd Co., Indiana and are buried in Pleasant Ridge Cem. Susannah was the sister to Irena Ellen Stewart my ancestor. I think that probably Jacob is the father and the other's are his children.

I am looking for information on Margret Elizabeth Searles/Sarles who was married to Charles Kelso Rodgers. From this marriage, daughters Iva Myrtle and Flossie Bell were born. Charles Kelso Rodgers disappeared and Margret Elizabeth later married a Williams. In 1910, Margret E. Williams was living at 48 E. Fourth Street, New Albany in Floyd County. My data indicates that Lucy Ann died in Clark Co., IL in 1859. I frequently come across the Blankenbaker name while researching my ancestors in the Shenandoah Valley of VA.
