I have just found the surnames Albert and Gouldener in my family. So far, I've found them in Mooresville (Floyds Knobs) and Lafayette Township. Some of them are buried in St. Mary's of the Knobs Cemetery. I know that the cemetery index is online, but wonder if anyone has written to St. Mary's Church requesting information on family members from the 1830s to about the 1880s. Also, is anyone else reseawrching the Albert and Gouldener surnames? Thank you, Sandi

Sandi, the 1850 census for Indiana has an index that will save you considerable time over browsing through the images on Ancestry, one image at a time. But you do need to know the names of the heads of household. If you live near a public library with a genealogy section, it may have the census data as well as the index. Alternatively, there are places on the internet to find the 1850 index with the associated images. Jack Ott researching OTT, HOPPER, SUMMERS, UTZ, and WHITLOCK in Floyd Co.
the book is still for sale by the Southern Indiana Genealogical Society. I am searching the 1850 Floyd County Census for Mooresville residents. Ancestry gives the townships as Lafayette, Lower Albany, New Albany, Greenville, Franklin and Georgetown. I've found some of the people I've been looking for in Lafayette, but am missing several. Is there another of these townships anyone would suggest looking in? Which was the closest to Mooresville? Was Lafayette in Mooresville? Thank you for any help, Sandi

The names given to me were Dominique Knable and Anne Marie VonBanck. I don't have any names or places. This person thought that Alouis was born about 1815 in Dossenheim-sur Zinsel, Bas Rhin, France. They think that Christina Marione's parents were Jean Marrion and Magdelain Lallemont. Sorry, I just haven't had time to verify this yet, but perhaps you do. I have many birth and death certificates of the Knable's that ended up here in Kansas City and would be willing to share copies. Would love to do some swapping of information. I have also been in contact with a Knable in Jefferson City. She sent me her line so I have her names and dates as well. Just haven't verified anything yet.
