Mrs. Martha Glaze, formerly of Indiana, who had made her home with her daughter Mrs. Sam Hollis of this community for sometime, was called to her reward. September 5. Her funeral services were held at the River Side Presbyterian Church, Indiana, of which she was a member, after which her remains were laid to rest in the cemetery at Elizabeth, Indiana. Although she had reached the ripe old age of 84, she was still maintained good mental and physical abilities and her friendly manner won the esteem of many whom she will be missed. Those who survive and mourn her loss; two daughters Mrs. Laura Hollis and Mrs Emma LaHue, four sons Andrew, Alvin(?),Jasper and Remson Glaze; 29 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. Our hearts go out in sympathy to the bereaved in the loss of this good women.

Near Hanover. Two children died in infancy and are buried in Germany, before they came to America in 1881. My new husband and I went to Germany in Sept. 2001 for honeymoon, but did not know the correct small town name, to go to. In Hanover records found many Brokers (of all spellings) and many still in phone book now. Our other German family name links: Bremer & Brockman - married Broker ancestors. Please everyone who has ever had to or may have family that they will need info. on from the state of Kentucky call this line and let them pass the word own to the judiciary committee to vote no. We need to be able to get copies of birth and death info. on our families. How else can we prove that this person was in our line. This is our best resource and they want to do away with it because criminals are using for fraud. If they don't have this source they will find another. Don't let them handcuff us, we are not criminals. We deserve to be able to look at this records. She was born around 1835 in Ireland, came to New Albany between 1848 and 1860 (most likely date around 1855), married a man named ? Welsh/Welch shortly after her arrival, later married Anthony Gavin probably in Holy Trinity Catholic Church in New Albany (before 1870). There were three children: John Francis Welch (my great grandfather), Michael Welsh, and Anna Welch/Welsh. With multiple marriages and different spellings of her last name, this one has been very tough to trace. I don't even know my grgrgrandfather's name. Any info would be much appreciated. Mary S
