    1. [INFLOYD] Obit of Unknown person - James Price?
    2. Sue Carpenter
    3. While indexing Public Press, New Albany, Indiana Newspaper, I came across this obit and thought: someone is looking for this person. I was so curious that I checked the death records to see if they ever found his name. Public Press 24 Jan 1911 p 5 c An unknown man who was stricken by apoplexy about three weeks ago at the power plant of the United Gas and Electric Company on Water Street, died last Thursday night at St. Edwards Hospital. The body was removed to Lottich Brothers undertaking establishment and if not identified will be buried by the county. The man had sought shelter from the weather at the power plant when he was stricken. His name ws not found by the employees and after his removal to the hospital he did not recover consciousness, but in his rambling talk he mentioned the name of James Price and also spoke of Pittsburgh. He was poorly clad and had the appearance of a tramp. He was about forty years andd, weighed about 140 pounds and had dark hair and blue eyes. Floyd Co., IN Death Records CH 22-19 Unknown Man, white, male, died 19 Jan 1911 at St. Edwards Hospital. Transient. aged about _0 years (illegible). Dr. Chester C. Funk, MD. Undertaker: Lottich Bros. Burial: Anatomical Laboratory, Bloomington, Indiana.

    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/3h.2ADE/1491 Message Board Post: I am looking for information on the Sillings family that settled in Floyd County, IN by 1819. David Sillings (1780-1872) seems to have been the patriarch of this family and according to the 1850 census for Floyd County was born in Virginia. I was hoping someone would be able to pinpoint his birthplace and perhaps have some more information on this clan. According to other discussions about this man, he was married twice. Two of his sons from his first marriage, Shadrach and Abednigo Sillings, moved to Crawford County by 1850 and earlier. My own ancestor, Elizabeth Zilling aka Zelling or Zolling (1800-1888) was also born in Virginia. She married John F. Jenkins (1800- ?) in 1824 in Clark County, IN. This couple moved to Crawford County by 1840. Due to the similarity of Zilling and Sillings and other information, I am trying to find out if Elizabeth was related to David. Any help will be appreciated.

When I try to reply to Mr. Briles, my messages are returned, so I am replying in this forum. Please forgive me. I am wondering how I can find the dates on Benjamin LAMB's headstone and if there is any other family, especially a wife, possibly named Nancy (according to History of Fulton Co., Illinois, CC Chapman, 1879, Peoria, IL, p 635). Some say Nancy's maiden name is Chaney, some Armont, some Jackson. It sure would help to know the dates on the headstones as we are running into several different Benjamin LAMBs of Indiana at one time or another. Thanks again ever so much.
