On Sunday morning, 27th inst., Mrs. Magdalena Frank, aged seventy-one years passed away at the family residence, No. 211 East Ninth street, of grippe, after a few days illness. She was the widow of John Frank and leaves one son and three daughters. The funeral takes place Tuesday morning at 9 o'clock from St. Mary’s Catholic church, of which she was a devoted, faithful member. Mrs. Frank was well known in the city and leaves many friends and relatives.

Scheller, widow of John G. Scheller, and an old resident of Floyd county, died at an early hour Monday morning, the 28th inst., at her country home on the Charlestown road, one mile from the city. She was eighty-four years old and had lived in and about New Albany for sixty-five years. For forty years she had lived on the farm on which she died. Three children survive her. They are: Mrs. Ann Jane Brown, with whom she made her home, John Scheller, of Sellersburg, a member of the Clark County Board of Commissioners, and J. G. Scheller, a member of the real estate firm in this city of Scheller & Nicholson. She was a devoted wife, mother and Christian. The funeral will take place from her late home at 1 o'clock Thursday afternoon. The interment will be at Fairview Cemetery.

His wife preceded him to the grave several years. His surviving children are Mr. Charles HANS, late Trustee of Georgetown township, Mrs. Jonathan BEARD, Mrs. Ann and Miss Georgia HANS, of Georgetown township, and Mr. John HAUS, of Louisville. The funeral takes place on Wednesday morning at the family residence in Georgetown township, the burial in the family lot at Cave Hill cemetery, Louisville. [Not researching this line]

a New Albany Newspaper--Tuesday, August 22, 1927 Last Summons. Death of Jacob SCHECHTER, Sr., This Morning. Jacob SCHECHTER, Sr. an old residen t of this city, died this morning about 1 o'clock at his home, 1317 East Market street, of the infirmities of old age. He had been in declining health for some time poast buthis condition did not reach an alarming stage until Sunday when he began sinking rapidly and it was seen that the end was near. Mr. SCHECHTER was eighty-five years old and had been a resident of this city for many years. He was a baker by trade but retired from business years ago. He leaves four sons and two daughters. They are John SCHECHTER, Jacob SCHECHTER, Jr., George SCHECHTER, Mrs.Margaret Trinler and Miss Catherine SCHECHTER, of this city, and Christopher SCHECHTER, of Chicago, the latter arriving at his father's bedside last evening. Mr. SCHECHTER made his home with his daughter, Miss Catherine SCHECHTER. Mr. W. was a member of one of the Home Guard companies of this city, and in the discharge of a patriotic duty which he felt he owed his country, met his untimely and sudden death. Funeral services were held at his residence conducted by Rev. Dr. Safford. A deserved tribute was paid to the deceased as a citizen-soldier, devoting his life to the service of his country. He was 44 years of age, and leaves a wife and two children. He will be remembered as one of the defenders of our city.

He died from his injuries early on the morning of April 1st. The remains will be interred at the Greenville grave yard. He was 29 years old and single.
