Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/3h.2ADE/1873.1 Message Board Post: Am not researching this line, just trying to be helpful. Don't think they were there all that time. In the 1860 census for Floyd county, New Albany Ward 3 there was a family headed by William Jesberg, 60, a laborer, and included Catherine, 60, John, 25, laborer, Christopher, 19, laborer, Anna, 30, Catherine, 15, and Anna, 3. All were born in Hesse-Kassel (now Germany), unfortunately no relationships are shown. You can see from the age and birthplace of the children that they were recent immigrants. Could not find Christopher in 1870 but think he was in Buchanan county, Mo in 1880. Hope this helps. Good luck. Don

Surnames: DeLong, Myers, Stillwell, Williams Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/3h.2ADE/1871 Message Board Post: Can anyone help me find info on a marriage. My great-aunt, Los Elva DeLong married Edward H. Williams on 02 Nov 1916, Clark Co., Ind. (Clark Co., is adjacent to Floyd Co.) I'm trying to get a copy of that marriage certificate, to see if it gives any details as to where she was born in Indiana and the names of her and her husbands parents. But I don't know how to order one from Clark Co., Indiana. I did find Lois & Edward in the 1920 New Albany, Floyd Co., Ind Census. Edward Williams was 20 yrs old and Lois DeLong was 21 yrs old. Along with two of their children, Violet K., & Ruth M. I suspect that LoisElva DeLong's parents are possibly Josiah Delong & J. Martha (surname unknown) but I'm sure. I do know that Lois had a sister named Helen (middle name either Francis or initial "L") and a brother named Carlos. There's likely more siblings. Helen is my line. Any help would be wonderful. Thanks. Ana Montero-Smith amontero@bsc.net

    1. [INFLOYD] BURIAL PERMITS 1850-1875
    2. Antoinette Waughtel Sorensen
    3. Were burial permits required in the 1850-1875 (at least) era for Floyd County, and/or Indiana in general, and if so, what level of county office would one need to inquire of, to see if it is on record, to receive a copy etc. I am in particular looking for a burial record on or shortly after December 18, 1869 for a Thomas Sinexon who died in Louisville, Kentucky on that date and whose body was supposedly sent to "John" in New Albany. Now John Sinex (his cousin) was the coroner at some point during that time but we can find no information regarding his actual burial. Any help will be gratefully appreciated. Thank you for taking the time to read this. Antoinette (Tacoma, Washington)

    1. [INFLOYD] 1869 ERA CEMETERIES IN/NEAR NEW ALBANY
    2. Antoinette Waughtel Sorensen
    3. Can anyone tell me the names of any cemeteries (other than Fairview, formerly Northern Burial Ground) that a person would have used in the 1869 time frame. We are trying to locate the burial of a Thomas SINEXON (of the SINEX family) who died in Louisville December 1869 and we have a reference as to his body going to New Albany and to "John". Now there was John Sinex, the coroner, but I don't know if he was the coroner at that time. This same Thomas Sinexon also used Sinex, and he also had a brother John but we know nothing of him at this time, except he was supposed to have been in southern Indiana. There is Thomas Sinex (of the Vault) who is my direct line and a brother to John the Coroner, and in turn would be a cousin to this Thomas Sinexon. My Thomas Sinex died June 1870, 6 months after the Thomas Sinexon died in Louisville. Antoinette (Tacoma, Washington)
