Hello all, I am researching the surname BUCHHEIT / BUCHEIT and I live in Pittsburgh, PA. I was wondering if anyone has access to the 1900 Soundex for Floyd County and can look for these surnames for me. I have access to the census records at Ancestry.com and would only need the city name, enumeration district number and page number. It would be a great help in piecing my family together and I would appreciate it very much! Thanks, Julie

Is there a paupers section in Fairview Cemetery. Are there records of persons, named/or unnamed, for this section? What would be available for 1869/1870 if so. We are looking in terms of a man whose true name was Thomas Sinexon (although some members of his immediate branch used Sinex also) who died supposedly in Louisville, Kentucky December 1869 and a notation he was transported to New Albany with the name "John" noted. We feel this meant he was to be transported to the coroner ~ John Sinex ~ OR he also had a brother John somewhere in the New Albany/Louisville area. No Sinexon name has surfaced in my research for this area. This Thomas Sinexon (or any alias he may have gone by) was born March 18, 1791 in Wilmington, New Castle County, Delaware and died December 18, 1869 in Louisville, Jefferson County, Kentucky. Are there any records date-wise that might "check out" possibly to be this man? Antoinette (Tacoma, Washington)
Cj, I don't know if this will help you or not, but it is worth a try. My 3g-gmother, Elizabeth Baker, had a younger sister named Charlotte who was born in Shenandoah Co., VA in 1798. They were daughters of Henry and Hester (Stockslager) Baker, who came to Harrison Co., IN about 1818. They settled near the county line with Floyd Co., because they are buried in Wolf Cemetery in Georgetown (Floyd Co.). Charlotte Baker married a John McCollough in or about 1818. I have no other information regarding this couple, other than a mention in my grandmother's memoirs (she was born in Floyd Co. in 1879) describing a visit to an elderly Aunt Lottie McCollough while she (my grandmother) was still a young girl. I am not able to find any leads in the census, unfortunately, regarding John and Charlotte. Like I said, this may not help you much, but on the other hand it might. Good luck in your research.
