I have Josephine Biesel married to Alva M Sparks. Josephine's parents were Mathias Biesel & Minnie Matthews. Mathias' parents were Peter Biesel and Katherine Schneider and Katherine's parents were Johann Schneider & Elizabeth Wade married 1 Feb 1824 in Nieder Roden, Hesse, Germany.     3. I find no divorce of Cordia and Delana in Dynix at the New Albany Floyd County Public Library but I did find Delana R. Elliott married to Anna F. Miller in the New Albany Daily Ledger Standard 8 May 1878 p4 c1.     3. Have you checked the Civil War Pension Records to see if Joshua was gone to war the reason the children were farmed out. Maybe he was killed in the war. Simon had a shoemaker shop on west Main Street in New Albany and he died on March 2, 1903, and was buried in Lanesville. Suzanne died in 1914 and is buried at Fairview Cemetery, New Albany. I would like to communicate with anyone who knows any details about this family.

My thinking is that Mathew Martin who is 80 has another family and that is first wife died and this is his second wife and family but am not sure.
