I find no divorce of Cordia and Delana in Dynix at the New Albany Floyd County Public Library but I did find Delana R. Elliott married to Anna F. Miller in the New Albany Daily Ledger Standard 8 May 1878 p4 c1. Have you checked the Civil War Pension Records to see if Joshua was gone to war the reason the children were farmed out. Maybe he was killed in the war.
