I am not sure exactly, yet, how some of the next generations came to move over to New Albany Floyd CO. I think it began when Isaac's grandson, Dr Samuel H McBride (one of several kids of David & Mary Ross McBride) died during the Civil War, his widow Martha Elizabeth Very McBride and her kids ( Harry H & my ggrandfather Charles Ross McBride) settled in Floyd Co. My Genung connection to your husband comes from this Charles R marrying Jennie Genung on Jan 24 1883. Seems to me that Martha Jane McBride of Corydon, Harrison Co IN b 1830 might be from another McBride line into that county. I have some census info on McBride's from NC and TN who settled in Harrison Co IN. Let me know if this would be helpful.

I am related to your husband through the New Albany , Clark Co Indiana Genungs. My Ggrandmother was Jenny Genung who married Charles R McBride, my Ggrandfather. He desends from Samuel McBride, MD and Martha E Very. My family line of McBrides ascends from David McBride, who is the son of Isaac McBride, an early settler in New Albany. Now I never heard of a Martha Jane McBride from my relatives in this line of McBride's from IN, not to say that there isn't one... just have not found her... I am presuming you have the 1880 census for Abe Patmore & kids... from FamilySearch.com .I also have the info you put in your GED-COM about Martha being raised in Corydon, Harrison and buried in in New Albany Mt Tabor Ceme. If the date of birth is accurate at: May 31, 1830 and date of Death is correct too (June 16, 1878), I will dig further and see if we have any connections that might fit the pieces of the puzzle! I will get back to you soon! ~Kathy

This is a terrific site to view. Just found my first cousin 3 times removed (Edmund Burton Walker) which I also have on my website at http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~waughtel/E_B_Walker_obit.htm which shows an older age picture of him. Also found a picture of Nora C. Walker who is a 1st cousin twice removed AND also a 2nd cousin twice removed, since she is related through my Walker line and my Sinex line. Nora C. & Edmund B. are 1st cousins once removed. I was really curious as to all this, since my late mother has several picture postcards (that I now have in my possession) addressed to "Miss Nora Walker" of New Albany. This solves a big "question". She (Nora) was the daughter of Maria L. Sinex (my great grandaunt) and Harvey C. Walker (my 1st cousin 3 times removed). Maria L. Sinex was known to us as "Aunt Doll" as she was so tiny. Sue, thank you for the url below. Although I have viewed the New Albany page previously, I had not gone into the various areas available. In so doing this a.m. I was extremely pleased with myself <grin> for finding a picture of "a 2nd cousin twice removed" of mine through the Sinex ~ Geneva Sinex ~ whose true name was Jessie Geneva Sinex. Thank you so much for a wonderful find. What time period do you think this may have been? Geneva was born 1887. Is there anyone in the New Albany area that would be willing to send me a list of motel names with e-mail addresses (if possible, since I don't use a telephone). The motel should have a meeting room or a hospitality room if at all possible. The SINEX - SINEXON & SINNICKSON families are hopefully planning to have their family reunion in New Albany the first week end of August 2005. This would most likely include a couple days prior and/or a couple days after for research and/or tours of family ancestry interests. I have found the Hampton Inn on line but cannot figure out how to get "a persons attention" in order to ask questions regarding availability of rooms and a meeting/hospitality room. Thank you for any help anyone can give me. Antoinette (Tacoma, Washington)
