    3. Have you found something in your research that might be of help to someone else researching in Floyd County? Why not put some of these postings online, such as newspaper articles, census records, etc. It is for genealogy and we would like for it to be as useful as possible to researchers of Floyd County, Indiana information. Put the SURNAME in all caps in the Subject line, such as DOE, John - Obituary. Don't forget to submit sources or newspaper locations when possible, so that others will know where to look for this if they want to copy it. Early New Albany newspapers are on microfilm at the New Albany-Floyd County Public Library. Pension Records for Rev. War Soldiers will be available on micrfilm within a couple of months, too. Who were his parents? Antoinette (Tacoma, Washington)

    3. New Albany Daily Ledger 8 May 1850 p2 c1 The report of the city Sexton for the six months ending May 1st, 1850, shows 61 burials - 36 adults and 25 children. This report certainly exhibits a very gratifying state of the health of our city. We will venture to assert that no place of its size can exhibit so little mortality in the same period of time. Indeed, New Albany has the reputation of being one of the healthiest places in the entire West - a fact which should have great weight with those who are seeking new locations.
