Dear Listers, I was looking at the 1859 Directory entries and spotted a Pryor. My Louisville mother was a Pryor, so I got interested. I am going to show this entry on the Pryor List to see if anyone knows about him. Could have been a KY Pryor who wandered across the Ohio River at some point, or may have been a Yankee Pryor who rambled down from MA. He did, at times, move back and forth between Illinois and St. Louis. He was married to Elmira (Almyra) Greer, who died in 1904. I have only found him twice in census records, as Val and Valentine. It is possible he only went by that name and his real name was John. His oldest son was "John V." and I am assuming that was "John Valentine". Any help would be appreciated.
