Goff, photographer in Elkhart from 1877 through at least 1895. I'd appreciate receiving any other information about him or other Indiana photographers. Goff came to Elkhart & purchased a photograph gallery of Daniel W. Smith and has conducted a successful business ever since. He has occupied his present quarters since Dec. 1881. Goff Photographic Art Parlors) 217 Main Street (from 1890s cabinet card) Biographical information: b. April 2, 1845 in Coldwater Michigan. PARENTS: Dorset J. & Julia (Terrill) Goff EDUCATION: educated in Coldwater & at Hillsdale, Mi; he studied music and the art of photography in Burr Oak, MI between the time of his father's death and 1877 when he moved to Elkhart OTHER: Pictorial and Biographical Memoirs of Elkhart and St. Jos. Cos (Chicago, Goodspeed Bros., 1893) p. 156-57 Reared in Coldwater, MI, 1863 removed to Buffalo, NY where he was employed in the wholesale hardware business of Sidney Shepherd & Co (5 yrs) two subsequent yrs. with the Western Insurance Co., of Buffalo. At the end of this time the death of his father called him to Burr Oak, where he remained for some time studying music and the art of photography.
