Surnames: Henderson Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/Vh.2ADI/2066 Message Board Post: My great-great-great grandfather is John Roscoe Henderson, born Feb 1856 (according to the 1900 census) in Indiana. His parents are Samuel Henderson and Susan V. Myers. He married Mary Catherine Proudfoot on 15 Jun 1881 in Jackson county, West Virginia. I have been unable thus far to find where and when he died. As far as I can tell, he died between 1910 and 1920 somewhere between Nebraska and California. On his marriage certificate, it says that he was born in Alcott county, Indiana. Alcott county does not exist. The closest sounding county to Alcott that I have found is Elkhart county. Is there anyone who would help me find out if John Roscoe Henderson was born in Elkart county? I am having problems getting access to birth records from Elkhart county. I would appreciate any help that anyone could give me. Thanks! Mary lovinlondon@hotmail.com
