KEYSER, 88, formerly of 701 S. Orange St., Sturgis, Mich., died Nov. 14, 1998, at Valley View Health Center, Elkhart, Ind. He was born in Marshall Township, Ind., on Jan 27, 1910, a son of Frank and Julia (STROUP) KEYSER. A resident of Elkhart for the past 6 months, he had lived in Sturgis for 44 years, coming from Plymouth, Ind. On July 5, 1930, he married Sarah Elizabeth "Betty" ROBISON in South Bend, Ind. She died Nov. 10, 1996. Kenneth was a carpenter by trade and was involved in the construction business his entire working life. He was a veteran of W.W.II, serving in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Christian Outreach Center of Sturgis, and he received great joy from helping others. Surviving are 5 daughters and sons-in-law, Lois and Bruce LA MERE of Cutknife, Saskatchewan, Canada; Dottie and Lloyd PIKE and Gloria and Carl MARKS, all of Sturgis, Sheila and Tom MCBRIDE and Mary and Robert LECOUNT, all of Elkhart; 2 sons and daughter! s-in-law, Jerry and Karen KEYSER OF Garrett, Ind., and Wayne and Joyce KEYSER of Elkhart, Ind.; a daughter-in-law, Patricia SUTTON of Sturgis; a son-in-law, Al CRAFT of Elkhart; 23 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; a brother, Wayne KEYSER of Cassopolis; 5 sisters, Ruth GIBA or Breman [sic] Ind. Iris LINGIS of Reno, Nev., Minnie ZOLLINGER of Roseburg, Ore., Dolly KECK of Osceola, Ind.; and Iona CALLENDER of Lakeville, Ind.; and many nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife; 2 daughters, Charlotte CRAFT and Bonnie KEYSER; 2 sons, William and Jimmy KEYSER and 2 great-grandsons, Benjamin LYTLE and Travis MCKEVELY. Friends may call after 2 p.m. today at the Hackman-Foglesong Funeral Home of Sturgis where family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral services Wednesday at the Christian Outreach Center, 410 S. Clay St., Sturgis. The Revs. Larry Pike and Robert LeCount II, grandsons of Mr. KEYSER, will officiate. Interment will fol! low the service at the Oak Lawn Cemetery, Sturgis. The family asks th at memorial donations be directed to the Christian Outreach Center.
