Russell, 55, who for 10 years prior to last May was engaged in the feed and seed business in Elkhart, died at 9:20 p.m. Wednesday, in his home at 122 East Crawford street. He had been bedfast three months. The son of James and Elizabeth (Sisley) Russell, the deceased was born March 2, 1894, in Rochester, Minn. He came to Elkhart in 1928. Surviving are his wife, Vernice Martin Russell, whom he married April 3, 1920, in Modesto, Calif., a daughter, Edith at the home; two brothers, Ralph of Minneapolis and John of Birch lake, Mich., and two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Baker and Mrs. Maude Dawson, both of Minneapolis. Mr. Russell was a member of the First Presbyterian church. The body, now at the Ed Walley home for funerals, 315 West Marion street, will be viewed at the the Russell home after 10 a.m. Friday. The service will be held at the residence at 2 p.m. Saturday, with burial in Olive cemetery, south of Jamestown. The Rev. Anthony Meenga will be assisted by the Rev.! Inez Martz of Adamsville.
