ANNA ENGLE Mrs. Anna Engle, 76, wife of Silas Engle, died at their home one mile south of the "Six Span" bridge, at 3:30 Sunday morning after a week's illness from pneumonia. She had been weakened by a chronic stomach ailment. The funeral service will be held at the home at 10 a.m. Tuesday in charge of the Rev. D. E. Lottrell of the Elkhart Gospel Tabernacle, and burial will be in the Rice cemetery. Mrs. Engle was born July 5, 1858 in Huntington county. Beside her husband, there are the following children by a former marriage: Gus and Sylvester Baldwin of Elkhart and Mrs. John Jacobs of Elkhart rural route No.2. There are three brothers, Henry DeWitt of Elkhart and Elmer and Nicholas DeWitt of Huntington. There are four grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Transcribed by Mona Gehring liatris875@aol.com
