In the 1870 census the family was in Illinois, Montgomery county, township 12 ramge 4, page 1, and was headed by David Shrock, 27, farming, born in Ohio, and included Sarah, 28, keeping house, Ind, - Jane, 7, Ind, - Melvin, 5, Ind, - Elcina, 3, Ind, and Amanda, 1, Ill. By 1880 the family had moved to Nebraska, Gage county, Sherman precinct, Dist 346, page 1, and was headed by David Schrock, 37, a farmer, born in Ohio, and included his wife Sarah, 38, keeping house, Ohio, his daughter Jane, 17, at home, Michigan, his son Melvin, 15, at home, Ind, his daughter Elsina, 13, at school, Ind, his daughter Amanda, 11, at school, Ill, his daughter Ida M, 9, at school, Ill, his son Charley, 4, Neb, and his son Sylvester, 1, Neb.
