This is a big thank-you to all of you who helped me with information before my research trip to the Goshen area last weekend. I found the Archives on Welden, and Sam White was most helpful, as were the ladies in the microfilm area. I narrowed my gggrandfather's dod to within a week in Oct of 1855 and I think I may have to settle for that. It seems strange that I can not find a burial site for either he or his wife. (William M. Ritchey and wife, Catherine (she died in Jan of 1850)). I did find quite a bit on the guardianship of my ggrandmother and her siblings in the probate packet. The historian at the Historical Society in Bristol was also most helpful. At her suggestion, I have written to the Health Dep't for some death dates so I can try to find obits on a few folks who died in the 20th Century. If and when I do get death dates, are there some good websites to look for Elkhart Co. Obits? Again, you are a great bunch! Thanks, Peggy Straughen
