POORBAUGH - Bradenton, Fla., age 89, of Bradenton, formerly of Elkhart, died Thursday (May 19, 1994) in Regency Health Care Center. She was born Aug. 3, 1904, in Elkhart. As Sarah J. NORCROSS, she married Maurice POORBAUGH in 1925. He died in 1978. Surviving are two nieces, including F. Betty GRAY of Bradenton, with whom she lived prior to entering the health care center. Her sister, Frances NIBLOCK, died in 1939, in Elkhart. A committal service will be July 20, (1994), at Rice Cemetery. The Rev. Richard Kalineberg of St. John the Evangelist Episcopal Church will officiate. The National Cremation Society of Sarasota was in charge of arrangements and Hartzler-Gutermuth Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements. Mrs. POORBAUGH was a volunteer with the Red Cross and a member of the D.A.R. and of the Presbyterian faith. She retired from her work in sales for a retail dress shop and moved from Elkhart to Defiance, Ohio, then to Florida in 1972.
