In the 1850 census for Ind, St Joseph county, Clay township, page 13 & 14, there was a family headed by John Wilkenson, 54, a farmer born in Pa, and included what is probably his son Samuel, 21, a laborer, Pa, and what I believe to be his daughter, Catherine McEntaffer, 29, Pa, and her children Rebecca, 9, Ohio, - Malinda, 7, Ind, - John S, 5, Ind, - Susannah, 3, Ind, and Emiline, 5/12, Ind. In the 1860 census the family is in the same township, page 59, P.O. South Bend, and was again headed by John Wilkenson, 63, a farmer, Pa, and included Cath McEntaffer, 40, Pa, and the children, Rebca, 20, school teacher, Pa, - John, 15, Ohio, - Susan, 12, Ind, and Emaline, 10, Ind. In the 1870 census for Michigan, St Joseph county, Constantine township, page 5, John McEntaffer, 27, was a farm laborer on a farm owned by Charles Schull, and was born in Ohio. Am not sure about this but in the 1880 census for Kansas, Ellis county, Hays ! township, Dist 90, page 8, there was a family headed by John Makintifer, (close as I could come), 36, farmer, born in Ind and both parents in Ohio, and included his wife, 32, keeping house, born in Mi and both parents in Pa, his daughter Anna, 3, Mi, his daughter Cora, 5/12, Ks, and his brother-in-law whose name I cannot make out, 19, a laborer, Mi, Pa, Pa. In the 1900 census for Indiana, Elkhart county, Union township, Dist 31, page 6A, P.O. of Nappanee, the family was headed by John S McEntaffer, 55, born Jan 1845, married 21 years, a justice of the peace, Ind, Ohio, Ohio, and included his wife, Mary, 47, May 1853, married 21, mother of 2 both still living, Pa, Pa, Pa, his son Floyd E, 19, Jul 1880, a salesman, Mi, and his daughter Ethel G, 18, May 1882, at school, Mi. In the 1910 census for the same township, Dist 40, page 4A, the family is again headed by John, 65, married 1 time for 33 years, a real estate agent, Ind, Ohio, Pa, and included his wife Mary J, 59, marri! ed 1 time for 33 years, mother of 2 both still living, Pa, Pa, Pa, hi s daughter Ethel, 29, a bookkeeper working in her father's office, Mi. Could not fine them in 1920. In 1930 the only ones there are Mary and Ethel. Hope this helps. Don
