The La Porte County (IN) Genealogical Society is hosting a Genealogy Fair on Saturday, October 15, 2005 from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. (CDT) at the La Porte County Fairgrounds, 2581 W. State Road 2, La Porte, Indiana. Speakers include Joan Hostetler of Heritage Photo Services, discussing historic photography, identification of processes and formats, and preservation techniques. A second program will be provided by Marvin Allen, speaking on using digital images to enhance, enlarge, customize, print and preserve photographs. The public can browse the booths and tables of other participants, including Genealogical Societies, Historical Societies, Cemetery Preservation Associations and Genealogy Resource Vendors. The event is open to the public. Box lunches are available by reservation. Exhibitor space is still available.
