I was wondering if anyone knows when this particular studio was in business?? The picture shows her in a very fancy black, brocade kind of dress, and the props are an ornate white wicker chair and side table. I have found other cabinet cards on the internet with the same address in Elkhart, but the studio name was "Mudge" instead of Rippey. Maybe one bought the business from the other?? I'd appreciate any responses on this! Thank you..Judy
I would try doll shops in your area too, if there are any. You can probably look in the Yellow Pages for one. Perhaps an antique dealer might be able to give you info as well, or an appraiser. Just some thoughts off the top of my head this morning. And if they can't give you info on the dolls themselves, perhaps they can point you in a direction for which to find. Good luck! Hello, Tom Stevens, the list owner, suggested that new members write something about their interest in Elkhart County genealogy so here goes. I am a direct descendant of Abraham Yoder (YB13) (1747-1820) who lived in Pennsylvania. Recently I started a project to find all his descendants including the female lines. This lead me to discover that many of his descendants migrated to Elkhart County. I don't have any primary sources for them but have been using the following sources from the Internet to establish who these descendants are: Census data Yoder Family Archives - http://www.yodernewsletter.org/ Mennobits - http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~mennobit/ Elkhart Public Library's online Obituary Index to the Elkhart Truth - http://www.elkhart.lib.in.us/cgi-bin/index5.pl?&file=obit_db.html#database "Holdeman Descendants..." Edwin L. Weaver (E. V. Publishing House, Nappanee, Indiana 1937) Some of you have already helped me by answering a query about Olive Cemetery which I posted on the Elkhart County Rootsweb Message Board. Look forward to sharing information and learning more about genealogy in Elkhart County. Anna Belle Emery, Tucson, Arizona
