Dennis, Have you tracked the ownership of the land identified as Grassy Fork Township, Jackson County (NW section 18, TP lot 4, RG block 6). I would think that the land would have been sold with the house and there should be a record of that transfer. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Dennis W. The Whitaker Store is indeed | what we know as the "Melloncamp" cabin and was moved to CP ca. 1971. Its | original location was Grassy Fork Township, Jackson County (NW section 18, | TP lot 4, RG block 6). The bill of sale was signed by the building's owner | Harold Melloncamp. No mention is made of the Daniel's family in our files | and I regret I have no information on the family. Hope this is of some | help." | Tim Crumrin | Senior Historian, Conner Prairie | | I still feel that this home was built and lived in by the DANIELS. I need | the proof that this was there home prior to the Melloncamp family purchasing | it. Please let me know of any other information that you know of that could | verify this family story. Have a Great Week! Looking forward to hearing from | you all! | | Warm Regards, | Dennis W.
