    3. On "A Guide to the United States Federal Census,1790-1920" put out by FTM, it does say that name and age of Rev.War pensioners is included in the 1840 Census. It also says that these records have been lost or destroyed for 1840: Pike County,MS and Clarendon District,SC. Paula MN

    3. I'm looking for some background for my g-g-grandfather, born in Rensaeller in Jasper County, IN sometime around 1840. His name was James Buchanan White and he married a Mahalia or Mahala Lloyd or Loyd - married in 1861 in Greensburg, IN. Does anybody have any information on him on a CD from the 1840 - 1860 census? I'm pretty sure I have Mahala tagged as both my gggrandmother and his first wife, but I'm not sure about his birthdate - or death date... If anybody has any information on his family let me know. Thanks! Kathy
