Susan Jones, Do you have a virus checker? If so run it if not find one, What you just described is what a virus does. it infects your computer and your email. It addresess itself to anyone in your email address book and sends itself to them. Then they open it thinking you send it and are infected themselves.. Also for your info a virus will also take another address to say it is from so you can get something that looks like it came from a mailing list, but as long as rootsweb does not allow HTML you can not get a virus from them. A virus can not be hidden in plain text. I suggest that anyone in your address book be told to not open any attachments saying they are from you and that everyone run thier virus checkers, MAKE sure they are updated! Someone sent it to me and now it's messing up my stuff. I'm trying to delete it out now. It automatically sent itself out to you without my knowledge. What a mess!! I just discovered something I have to share on this subject. My PC got a nasty "boot sector virus" whle I was running the latest version of McAfee. Norton Anti-Virus didn't find it either and my PC was out of commission for a week while I searched for a solution that wouldn't require me to reinstall and lose everything. There is a free A-V program available on the web called InnoculateIt. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT. It found the virus, got rid of it, and fixed my hard disk to boot (no pun intended). Use your search engine to find it, download and install it. It is the best I've found so far (after 16 years of being a computer tech, I might add).
