I am looking for the birth record of my grandfather's, William SKINNER's son who was born about 1934. He had gotten married to Jane Dexter BILBO on Dec.2 1933 and she was pregnant. They divorced in 1934. I assume the baby was born and then they divorced. That is how I heard it. They married in Valparasio Porter County Indiana. However he worked at the Post Office in East Chicago, IN. I thought that was in ILL. Was it at one time IN? Then it changed to ILL? I was thinking the baby was born in Porter County IN. and was told by the court house to call the health department. They gave me the number and they said they would send me an application to fill out and I was to send in 5.00. So I did, but I was wondering why the health department was in Pike County, Petersburg IN? Is that the only health department for the area? That is where I had to send for one. I got my check back and they said they could not find any information. Plus if the baby was born in East Chicago, IN., who would I contact to get a copy of the birth record? Can anyone help?
