This is according to 1900 census in Whitely County, IN, Columbia City District. While info is sketchy on Benjamin Harris, I know nothing of the family of CLARE CRAWFORD. Anyone come across the name CRAWFORD or HARRIS in there research? Children of Benjamin Harris & Clare Crawford Harris, all born in Indiana. I would like to find birth location or other info, such as marriage records. ALBERT 1882 BERTHA 1884/85 HARRY J.(Jay) 1887 ALZA (f) 1890 (mar. H. EMERY about 1906-08 in Allen County, IN) BENJAMIN F. 17APR1893 in DeKalb County, IN. RUSSELL 1895 (possibly in Wabash, IN.) I find nothing on this family in DeKalb County or any other county in IN. in that timeframe of 1880 & 1900. According to 1900 census they were renting the home in Whitely County. My grandfather was a Blacksmith by trade. I can find no evidence that they ever were landowners in Indiana.
