I have been looking for this man's (my great grandfather) family for some time without breakthroughs. Sometimes appears as Columbus Christopher NICHOLSON, sometimes Christopher Columbus NICHOLSON. Says "C.C." on cem rec. He was born in Indiana in 1843 or 1844, his daughter thought Washington County for some reason. He moved to Iowa with family when very young -- could not remember his mother's name. His family seemed to move on while he stayed in Iowa. His father (John?) was from Kentucky. I have discounted but not totally ruled out John Brown NICHOLSON. His obit says he had "lots of brothers and sisters", 2 half brothers, only sister (or brother for that matter) mentioned by name was Ida. Would anyone with better resources than I care to tackle this? RC in TX (formerly from Iowa)
