My son does not want to get caught up in genealogy as he likes computers, to work on them, repair them and learn where to get the best prices/discounts for what he wants. CDs are not forever. There life expectancy is about 15 yrs. with out a redo or put on another CD. Paper is the only forever thing if protected, even some of the old paper of the 17 and 1800s did not all go by the way of dust. Plastic is a forever product but it gets dry and cracks and moisture can sneak in. I do have some old metal trunks I have found in antique places, yard sales etc. My girls want them. Guess I could pack unproven genealogy in each and tell the girls I will haunt them if they ever thro them away but to research them I will be sure they live long :) think a threat that that would work? I can tell them they have to have a every other yearly gathering and go thru the trunks and check out what is there and show the grand and g grand and gg grand children what their granny did in her yrs. on Gods Great Earth maybe it will pic their interest. OH, well I feel I have several yrs. to go yet at 72 I feel very spry and sound of body with everyone friend Aurther in my left hip. Oh, Oh, to day is my B-day and I am one yr. more to the good 73. I will not give up, I keep a positive attitude. Thanks to all on the ideas as to what to do with my unproven records. There may yet be someone turn up to say 'Granma, I am interested, I will take what you don't want.' I will hope. THANKS ALL...............Beej-Fireflower-Missed placed Hoosier in the Baby State
