IYes she did live to adult shou was on the 1850 census, should have been about 2 in 1840, but I guess the census only list how many male/female in each age group. As far as I know John Matson LAW was a farmer, no son by that name that I know of so kinda doubt the lawyer in indiana in later years was a son MATSON is a common middle name in my line but only one John Matson as far as I know, Jackie > Jackie, > Abt the little girl in that census, do not discount the fact that they may > have had a daughter that did go on to grow up. Frances became an Usraline nun and took the name of Sr. Salesia. She spent her years as a nurse at the Mother House in Louisville, KY. There were older sibs. My grandfather was Martin Esau McFall who married Inez Wood and they raised five children in KC MO. Shelby ran several business and may have been a lawyer. Stella became a Benedictine nun, taught school and work in the library. She died in Indianapolis, IN. Jean

Now that the attention is on lawyers, my maternal Grandfather's father was John Esau McFall who married Mary Ketzner. They raised their children in Jasper IN and she had brothers who farmed across the Ohio River in KY. I have not been able to travel to Jasper and have found several John McFall persons on the net, but none seem to be my great grand father. According to the family he was a lawyer and possibly a DA or other county office holder in IN in the late 1800s to about 1920. Any help would be appreciated. Most of the family died out over the years except for Martin Mc FALL who had five children and twenty-five grand children. Thanks you, Jean

Since attorney/judge John Law is in the vicinity of Knox, Greene, Sullivan, Owen counties, maybe he's a son of your J. L. who died in the l850's. Probably the prominent John Law is in biographies of men in government and law in Indiana. Check with your library as a start.

I am not sure if that is my John Law, the death date I have for him is 1852 no documentation just what I got from a family researcher. the john Law that was an attorney........... anything on who his and or children were? in the 1850 census it states that my john LAW was a farmer born 1817 in Ohio.
