Hi all, I have a marriage record of Hiram Hiatt to Jane Addison dated Dec 15, 1828, in Henry County, Indiana. Does anyone know who the father of Hiram is? Thanks for any help, or a nudge. Lora, Jax, Fla
Dear Joseph, My grandmother was born in 1902. At that time Birth Certs. were issued at the attending doctor's place of residence. This doctor was Garrigus who resided in Parke County. I found it odd that my gran wouldn't have been registered in the county of birth. Not at all sure of when the courthouse burned...do know all records were destroyed. Parke County did have a site on line...don't know it offhand, but they might have the info. Regards, Elaine.
Hi all, I ordered some marriage certificates thinking it could me one of my Addison's that was misspelled, however, it is an Adamson. Would be glad to sent to anyone researching this surname. Thanks, Lora, Jax, Fla
Hi All, I have also found photos here: http://users.erinet.com/31363/fordand.htm Lora, Jax, Fla
I checked this database and a few others for my ggggrandather's regiment. It seems to have seen very little action and not many picture - does anyone have any information on the Indiana 66th Regiment, Company H? They were infantry, as far as I can tell. I'd like to get some information and pictures of them if possible to try and compose a picture of what my ancestor might have looked like. My uncle sold the older pictures in my grandfather's estate in 1984 . They had been in his attic for years and disappeared without anyone being able to lay claim to them - by the time my mother and I got to my grandfather's house, the auctioneer had cataloged almost everything of value - including old tintypes and daguerreotype picture that I saw in a box. So - if just by chance, you know of anyone who bough some old pictures at an auction 17 years ago in Jeffersonville on Lincoln Drive, let me know who they are and I'll try to offer them enough to get the pictures back! They are my Roberts side of the family....I know that's kind of a different request but thanks for listening! My elusive SKINNER sibling......I can't find Melvena {also see as Melissa & Melvina) SKINNER b. ca1849-51 after the 1880 census. Melvena SKINNER was born Garrard Co.KY most likely. As I first found her listed with her parents: Clark SKINNER b. 1794 KY and Lucinda "Susanna" unknown b. ca1812-20 KY. on the 1850 Garrard Co.KY census....she was the youngest of their 9 children.....then I found her on the 1860 census in Greene Co.IN in Beech Creek Twp. living with her widowed mother "Susanna" and some of the other children. She was not living with her Mother and brother on the 1870 census in Beech Creek Twp. Next time I found her she was living with her brother David J. SKINNER and wife Hamey Loruh LIVINGSTON in Clay Twp. Owen Co.IN. on the 1880 census and after that I can find no trace of her. Does anyone know what happened to Melvena SKINNER who was unmarried in 1880 and 29 years old according to the census records? Some records show her middle initial to be F. I'm open for any suggestions.....I have checked cemetery listings in Owen Co. and marriages none found, also checked in Monroe and Greene Co’s. Thanks, N.J.Skinner White in MI.
Good Morning! I would be willing to pay a small fee to someone who could provide me with a group shot of 10th Regiment, Indiana Infantry, especially Co. B. but any group shot would suffice. I need following information. WHERE Parking is available for IND. Geneaology Division. What are the charges for parking? Can one park on Street on Saturday? That is, if the Genealogy Dept. is open? There use to be a vacant lot across the street where one could park FREE. ( ???? ) Thank you for any information.
Jan: I replied to Elaine before I saw your message. We were in Rockville last Fall and found a wealth of material at the City Hall in the little courthouse square. I may have the address somewhere if you can't find it. They were most helpful and did have many old records. Also there is a historical society there even tho it is closed through the late Fall and Winter months. Good luck and let me know if you need addresses etc and I can try to find them. Elaine: Read your message to Jan. Don't know who you were responding to but perhaps you could let them know that we were very successful finding records at the Rockville City Hall. Thank you for your generous offer. I am looking for Mahlon ( could be Malon) Munson Leek. In 1860, 1870, and 1880 he was in LaPorte County Indiana. I cannot find anything on him after 1880. He had children by a lady named Henrietta. Can not verify a marriage. Any information at all would be helpful.
