I am searching for the death info for a Joseph Gill who died sometime between 1880-1900 in Parke County, Indiana. More likely between 1882 and 1900. He would have been somewhere between 76 and 96 years of age. He was noted on the 1880 census living with his wife Julia, his son Deverter and three of Julia's children from a previous marriage; Joseph Caroline and Elbert Crothers. Living in Liberty Twp, Parke County. I have not been able to locate a burial or a death on this man, he is my Great Great Grandfather. The rest of his family is buried in the Miller Cemetery in Lodi. He was known to be a farmer and also worked in the mines and also the Canal in it's day. According to the 1880 census he was born in OH in 1804 and 1870 census it says he was born in VA in 1804. The 1880 census says that his parents were from England the other census does not list where his parents were from. The 1900 census lists Julia as widowed. It is also possible that he was married previously to an Elizabeth, she died in 1868 and according to her tombstone which is in the Miller Cemetery, not far from Julia's tombstone, it indicates that there were children to mourn her, would love to know who these children were and what became of them after Elizabeth died. The 1870 census shows only Joseph living in Liberty Twp, and there was a Sarah Lacey listed in same house, as a housekeeper, she was only 17, who was she and was she related to Joseph? Any clues most appreciated, I have been searching for information on Joseph for many years now with not much luck at all. I have found no tax record for him or land records.
